Bought this for my 9 year old that didn't want the character back pack but the teen ones were too "cookie cutter".
We found this one after searching for a week. It's perfect and she loves it. Very well made but the fabric is light weight enough for the 9 year old to sport around every day.

I've always been a fan of Jansport backpacks/messenger bags, they've always been durable and comfortable, so when I saw this on-sale I couldn't pass up the chance to order it. I was surprised at how large it actually was and as a college student that's a nice bonus. It was big enough to fit my large binder and my textbooks and on some days my laptop [the built in laptop sleeve is awesome!]. It seems durable and it's comfortable to wear.
