I got this to use as a diaper bag when I'm solo with my baby boy. Call me insecure, but as a man, I don't enjoy carrying around a giant purse as all diaper bags are. This bag is more fit for a dad and his son.
Anyhow... this bag seems to be a good buy. I just toss it around, and I haven't yet had any problems with seams coming apart of zippers breaking. I like that it has a lot of pockets, which makes it easy to separate all of my stuff. The side pockets are good for water bottles, and the shoulder straps are comfortable enough.
I wouldn't recommend it for school books or laptops since it's just a floppy canvas bag and it won't do a good job of distributing a heavy load. But for the price it works well enough to tote around a few things.
The army-esque look of it is pretty cool. But I'm Asian, and I thought for a minute that the red star was a little Chairman Mao-ish. But no biggie, I still like it anyway.

I LOVE all the pockets and compartments this backpack has. There's a very large comparment, plus another almost full-sized one. Two small pockets on the sides, the net in the front, and two smaller sippered compartments. There is a place for everything in this pack!
I do feel like it could be better reinforced where the straps join the bag, but otherwise I'm very pleased.
