If I had more stars I would have given it to this Backpack:-) I travell a lot and I decided to buy a new one as the previous backpack was quite old. I chose this one based on other people's reviews at amazon and I think it was exactly what I need. It doesn't look as a huge one, but in fact it is big enough for everything I need while travelling plus my laptop and so on... It's just perfect

Let me start by saying this. The last time I needed to buy a backpack was in 1996 when I went to college. I'm still using that bag. No rips, no tear... It was just time to get a new one. It was also a High Sierra.
So, I knew which kind I was looking for this time around. Well... the bag looks really good, but the quality has definitely slipped over the years. The material itself is about half as thick as it use to be. Before it was like a thick canvas, now... well... it's just like all the other bags.
The bag itself is bigger than it looks; very tall, which means the pockets are very tall... And there are plenty of those. While I thought I'd love that, I really don't have enough stuff to fill it up, and it really just becomes a pain to try to dig for stuff, because the pockets are SO DEEP.
However, that is probably just my problem. I imagine that would be a good thing for a student.
My only other problem with the bag is that there is only one cup pouch; my other one had 2. Oh well.
So what's good about the bag? It's still one of the best backpacks on the market. I seriously looked for months before buying this one, and let me tell you it was till far and away the best backpack I found. I must have gone to a dozen stores before I came to amazon, and that too even took me a week. I'm just a picky person.
So, I'm giving this 5 stars because it's still the best on the market, and if you need a compact looking bag that is deceivingly large, this is the bag for you.
