I bought this medium Commute messenger bag for use as a briefcase. As an engineering consultant, I travel about 50% of the time and live out of my briefcase.
Construction - Seems very well made. Finish is great. No loose threads or poor seams.
Comfort - Good. Shoulder strap is comfortable, but the woven nylon can slip off my shoulder. Having a grippier pad would be nice.
Use/Features - Excellent. Lots of pockets and compartments. Seems very well thought out. Ease of getting my laptop out for airport x-ray is EXCELLENT! No need to open the main bag, just unzip the back and slide out the laptop.

I was fortunate enough to find this item (the discontinued Commute) still available in the medium sized all black model. I have it less than 1 week but I can already tell it will last a lifetime. I use this bag for every day commuting, as a carry-on for business trips, and as a laptop bag. It is extremely durable, comfortable to wear, roomy, and well organized. The bag's strap is easily adjustable so you can carry the bag like a briefcase, sling it over a shoulder as a satchel, or hike it up and secure it on your back like a messenger bag. I especially enjoy the drink holders on either side of the bag. Great for a bottle of water or smaller thermos.
There is a newer 2.0 version of the bag that is identical except the laptop pocket fully folds out for airport scanning without removing it from the bag. You can modify this bag to be exactly like that by cutting out a small portion of the lining on the sides of the laptop area, but it eliminates the ability to store your mouse and power supply in that pocket when you are flying. No biggie as the main section of the bag is very big.

This bag is very well built, and is ideal for a 15" laptop (my MBP fits nicely, along with accessories and few essentials + book and files). Like the key pocket and clip, and the assortment of pockets and the large zippered compartment works well. However, when I was shopping for a bag, I assumed a TB2 "messenger bag" would be tailored for cyclists. I was disappointed that a second chest/hip strap was not standard, something I consider a must for stability when riding my bike to work. I ordered the TB2 strap directly, it helps, but without d-rings to connect to the body of the bag, it is a makeshift solution.
Bottom-line for me: A well-designed bag for riding the bus or walking to work or as a good carry-on with the laptop; not the best "messenger" bag for cyclists.

This is a very practical and elegant bag. Its pockets are wonderfully placed and can contain a lot of documents, books, pens, etc. There is also separate compartment for the laptop. It's a great product that will last.
