 "Worst Customer Service Ever" 2010-09-09

First when purchasing, the product was listed as "In Stock" and I received an e mail saying my card had been charged. After a week of no notification I e mailed "online fitness" to find out the status of the order. I was told the product was out of stock & it would be at least 30 days until the received a new order. This is un-professional as it gets. Not once was I ever e mailed or contacted to be informed of the product is out of stock & it would be 30 days until the get a new shipment. This is pretty basic customer service when it comes to online ordering. Keep your product stock updated for online, it's really not that hard. I seriously question wether the company would have ever informed me of this if I did not contact them first.

HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL & UNORGANIZED!! *WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ORDERING FROM THIS WEBSITE*

 "Great for smaller DSLRs" 2010-05-27
By M. Roberts (Pittsburgh, PA)
This backpack has a great layout and a lot of functionality except that the camera compartment is backwards. You open the back of the bag and the top of your gear sits on your back. This makes the flash portion of the camera hit you right in the spine. This wasn't much of an issue with a Nikon D5000 but when I put my D300s in there it wasn't working. You'll never get a pro body or gripped prosumer body in this bag. I can't really knock it for that though as I don't think it was designed for pro gear. The build quality and layout are great just keep in mind that it is very narrow. I would probably find something else if you have a D90 or bigger sized body.

 "DAKINE Mission Photo Pack" 2010-03-03
By Vestige (PA)
This photo backpack is great. I purchased this backpack in the bomber pattern and color. I love it! There are many many photo backpacks out there like Apecase, or Lowepro, etc. I went with Dakine though because I have had other Dakine backpacks for many years now, and still own them, because they are the most durable backpack I have ever used. So I knew I could rely on their dependable quality.

I have a Canon Digital Rebel XTI that I use, and I take it everywhere in this backpack. Whether it be out hiking in the woods all day, walking around Pittsburgh taking photos for 10 hours, I have basically used this backpack in every possible situation, and it has never let me down. I have three lenses, my dslr, a small canon point and shoot, all my filters and accessories, such as extra batteries and many many other supplies, and even have either my full size tripod strapped onto it, or my compact Slik tripod stuffed inside. I always have this much gear in this bag, and it always stays comfortable. The padded straps are great, and so is the padding on the back of the bag, so your back does not get sore. I feel great after hiking for literally 10 hours on end.

This bag has a rain cover that covers everything, EXCEPT for the part that unzips, which is the part that would be facing your back. It is figured that that part will not get wet since it is protected by your back, and also, this is great so if it is one of those days it rains and stops about every half hour or so, you can leave your rain cover on, while still havign full access to your camera, without constantly adding the cover, then removing it, doing one giant cycle of frustration. Now as I did say earlier, the main zipper for the camera block is on the backside of the backpack, which is the side facing your back, as if you were wearing it. No one should have a problem wit hthis whatsoever, since you literally should be setting your bag down anyway to remove your camera, or replace a lens, etc.

I throw my compact tripod right inside, because it is only 14" in height. If I have my full size tripod, I simply strap it on vertically on the back and it works great. One thing I really do love about it is the fact that it has a zipper compartment on the side, that unzips, and a drink holder folds out. This is truly a must have for looooong hourly hikes. I constantly have a bottle filled with water. It will hold a bottle of Gatorade or Allsport. That's how generous the size is (small gatorade of course). This way you're not throwin a wet, condensating bottle inside your bag with all your electronics and other valuable delicate items.

This bag simply works great. At all times it holds my DSLR, 3 lenses, a point and shoot camera, a mini tripod, water, both battery chargers for my DSLR and my point and shoot, 2 extra batteries for my DSLR and one for my point and shoot, a computer transfer cable, extra memory card for my DSLR, lens cloth, rocket blower for dust, the rain cover (which comes with it), my four lens filters, extra lens cap, filter wrenches, and granola bars for that long hike when there is nowhere around to get food. Like I said also, the padded straps are great, the padding also, all make up for a great feeling hike for many hours without the pain of straps digging in or much of anything hurting. This backpack is very durable (as you can tell with all the stuff I haul) and I take it everywhere with me. You most definitely won't be disappointed.

Only one word of advice though. This comes with NO velcro straps, so you are going to want to buy some, so you can securely hold your camera and lenses in place. You will need the hook part, since the loop part of the velcro is already inside the bag. So you only need the hook straps.

 "Fantastic camera bag." 2008-03-19
By Steve Hansu Kim (Orange County, CA)
I bought it because I've owned a regular Dakine bag for years and it has served me very well. They're tough, looks good, very usable, and most importantly, comfortable.

This bag is obviously built for camera gear and it's intelligently designed. Only thing I don't like is that the foam dividers need to be placed high in the padded block to keep the camera nice and snug at the top but it leaves a big gap at the bottom of the dividers and the bottom of the block.

Besides that, it's got great storage spaces all over as well as a huge zippered compartment for wallet, keys, phone, mp3 player, change, pens, notepads, etc. That compartment unzips halfway down the face of the backpack and you can reach all the way down the length of the bag so you can put large magazines in there if you wanted.

Also it has a strap just behind your back on the inside of the bag before the block for your laptop to slide into.

There's two straps on the face of the bag that you can click your tripod into but the top of the bag sags out a little because of the weight. But it's comfortable to strap the tripod on the bag then to lug it around all day. There's also a strap hidden inside a small zipper pocket above the top strap more stuff that you can't actually stuff into the bag. This is quite important because most of the inside of the bag is going to be used for your camera gear.

Also the bag can be opened traditionally or unzipped from the back by taking off the bag and placing the logo side on the ground. Also I noticed that you don't necessary need to unzip it completely to reach for your camera inside which is very handy. There's enough room above the foam block that you can place a small folded up jacket or a sweat shirt inside the bag.

There's also a net that pops out of the small pocket on the left of the bag so you can put wet items such as your cold drink or fruit in it without getting the inside of the bag all wet. There's a small pocket above the net with a soft liner for small delicate items. The pocket on the right is big enough to tightly fit a small novel inside.

The shoulder straps are wide and soft and they're contoured. The sternum strap slides up and down to make it comfy for all. And the waist strap is nice and wide with padding so it doesn't dig in under the love handles. There's extra soft padding for your tailbone. They've thought of everything.

The block can obviously be removed but it's hook and looped in so it doesn't move around. Also the block is padded but the bag is padded as well so there's good bump protection for your expensive camera gear. There's enough room the block for my camera with a telephoto mounted, my flash, and three smallish lens. If I remove my flash and put it in an outside pocket I can store 6 lenses and 1 telephoto on the body or 3 lenses, 1 telephoto on the body and 1 telephoto on the side sharing 3 lens spaces. I wish it came with more small dividers but I can pretty much order more if necessary but I use one whole side for the flash, caps, cables, and cleaning gear.

Overall this is a great bag that doesn't scream "steal me I have expensive camera gear inside".

My laptop and camera fit as advertised, but I am not sure how to secure the tripod so that it will not fall off. A small manual with a few words and some pictures about securing the tripod would be helpful.

By Oliver Winschiers
overall awesome backpack! all pockets are easily accessable and there is a lot you get into the little bag! good stable construction and its also very easy to adjust, especially during the winter when you wear a sweater inside and then go out with your snowsuit, one pull and you can put it on your back!

only thing that could be changed is the zipper could be higher on the back to protect the camera from potentially falling out

"Great quality for a great price." 2009-12-10
By SellStuffUSA (Ohio)
Ok, so you may be wondering whether it is worth it to go with a knockoff right? I mean it's normally not a good idea, but I have to say this camera bag is an exception to the rule!

SIZE:

Don't let the size fool you when you get it. I manage to fit a TLR, SLR with stock lens, two zooms and a macro zoom lens, a flash extra film and memory cards, filters and batteries all in here comfortable, without having to sit on it to close it up (not a good idea..). It's kinda of like the Toyota Prius of bags, looks small but looks are deceiving.

QUALITY:

I have literally travelled all over the world with this camera bag over the past 6 months, and I have no complaints. No zippers are going, nothing is getting worn out and the fabric is very durable...and believe me I am not exactly the most graceful of people when it comes to carrying bags with me. Nevertheless, the bag is doing great! The straps are made out of great material, and I even hang DSLR holsters with cameras off of the side with Climbing clips, and not a stitch has moved!

My friend who is also a photographer bought the Lowepro version of this, while myself and another friend bought the OnePolar model. We compared them side by side and the difference is hardly noticeable! The only difference we can find is that the Lowepro has one extra mini pocket for memory cards...that's it.

VALUE:

I paid 45 bucks for mine at the beginning of this year, and even though the price has dropped $20 I am not dissatisfied. I would even pay the 45 dollars again, happily. It's still a third of the price of the Lowepro and worth it.

OVERALL:

A resounding yes. This is a $25 VERY well spent and you will not be unhappy! While I normally like to stick to name brands, OnePolar really has taken the cake on this one.

 "Absolutely AWESOME camera bag!!" 2009-12-05
By Joey & Aleethea (North Carolina!)
LOVE it.

MORE PADDED than I had expected, and more padded than any other camera bags I've ever owned. There are many more compartments than you can see in the given product photos. Beautifully made and super duper padded, there is thick padding on every side and every space! Also the rain cover is attached to the camera, which is just so great. It just pulls out of the bottom compartment to cover the entire bag, without it becoming detached from it's compartment. So neat!!

I have FINALLY found a camera case that fits everything SAFELY -- it's for my Nikon D40, plus 3 lenses (18-55mm, 55-200mm, and mini 10x macro lens) plus extra battery, cables, etc. -- And the padded velcro separators on the interior main zippered compartment are removable and adjustable so you can have them fit snuggly around your lenses and camera, so you can arrange them however you'd like!

This camera bag also has a separate compartment which I'll use for my keys, iPhone, etc. This has become my new everyday bag!! An excellent purchase, and a bargain too at this price. This camera bag is amazing!! My hubbs gets lots of cool points for ordering this for me for XMAS!!! :D

 "Pretty good Lowepro knock-off" 2009-10-03
By V42
This bag appears to be a well made Chinese (Onepolar) knock-off of the Lowepro Slingshot 100AW. Overall, it is very similar with the following exceptions: no microfiber LCD cloth included (pouch is there, just no cloth), zipper pull cords are red/white striped in color vs all black, zipper pull cord end tab shape slightly larger and more angular vs smaller teardrop shape, all buckles are very very similar but not exactly identical, accent fabric panel color is almost black vs silver gray, and of course it's missing all the Lowepro sewn-in logo's. Materials and workmanship were generally very similar to identical.

One quality difference worth noting was the adjustable insert panels. These foam rubber/cloth covered removable walls seem a little thinner and more flexible. The foam was also slightly undersized meaning it didn't completely fill the cloth cover volume from end-to-end making them less able to maintain a rigid shape to the compartments they form. The other difference was with the straps that prevent the main compartment door from opening too far so the camera won't fall out by accident. They work fine, but are a bit longer than on the Lowepro so they don't lay as flat against the pack as they should when closed.

So in the end while this bag has a few compromises, it is very comparable to the Lowepro. Side-by-side you can tell a difference, but I'd estimate they're 80-90% similar.
