Bought this last year for my 6 year old for use while skiing. We were all over the mountain and between this pack a couple clif bars we were set for the day and no complaining about being thirsty. It is small -- which is great since it is not too heavy. Plenty of water even for a thirsty kid . We only had to refill once -- and that was largely because I had a few drinks, too...

While the design of this is good, it is smaller than I thought--it would be best for 5-6 yr. old kids.

We bought this for my son's 6th birthday and that was over a year ago. We had to replace the valve due to my son chewing it, but he loves this camelpack and takes it everywhere. Makes me feel good knowing he is drinking water instead of juice or soda like I see so many other kids.
