This signature one came with a ballpen instead of a toothpick. Like it very much.

 "Perfect balance" 2009-12-31
By A. Spitzer (Droopy Michigan)
I bought two different mini Swiss knives, one for me and one for my brother. I got the one with the light and not the tweezers, he got this one. While the one I got is great and durable (mine went through the washer and the dryer and the light still worked!) I miss the tweezers. This one is just as good and if one really a light, a mini mini mag light can do the job. Excellent quality as always.

 "Blades reversed" 2009-09-13
By R. A Simon (Boston, MA USA)
I've used Swiss Army knives for decades. I love the quality and this one is right in line with the quality that I'm used to. There's an odd design decision with this knife. All the "Classic" series knives have the sharp blade on the same side as the Swiss Army insignia. This knife, however, has the file on the same side as the Swiss Army insignia. Since I've become so accustomed to the old arrangement, I think this new arrangement presents a danger because I'm too likely to open the wrong side.

 "Great little keychain tool" 2009-08-14
By Captain Tyler (Illinois)
I got the Translucent Ruby knife because it was $7. I wanted a blade, scissors, and a pen in the same knife, so this was a no-brainer at the price. I love Victorinox's build quality on their knives. I now own 5, and 4 of those I bought in the same day, the fifth the very next day. I acutally carry this instead of my Sportsman 82mm tool, because the only advantage the Sportsman has is a corkscrew(lol) and bottle/can openers. I have a P38 can/bottle opener on my keychain already, so I put this on it in favour of the Sportsman. The toothpick is always gross on these knives, so I love the pen addition. I like how it writes, but it's not a Montblanc.

IN CONCLUSION: Get it now!

I received it from MyFashionStore in 5 days with standard.

"The best keychain knife made...." 2009-08-07
By Jose Sanchez (Miami, FL)
Everyone old enough to carry a keychain should own a Victorinox Signature. It's just that useful. The weight itself is so insignificant that you will never notice it on your keychain until you need it, and at that point it will be ready to spring into action and save the day.

The basic toolset, while spartan, is quite functional; more then you might imagine at first glance. No wasted space.....no dead weight.........that is the Victorinox Signature in a nutshell.

Tools:

The pen: Who has not found themselves in a situation where they needed a pen and did not have one? With this on your keychain, you will always have a pen at the post office, or in the bank when the provided pens seem to be missing or out of ink, or when writing an impromptu message while answering your telephone in the car.

The knife: While small, the knife is actually very usable. While you should not expect to be able to carve a turkey with this blade, you can open cardboard or plastic containers, cut nylon zip ties, open mail.......in a pinch you could even cut off the seatbelt in your car, were you to find yourself trapped inside in an emergency. It may not be ideal for the purpose, but it will cut that seatbelt and get you out of the car, I have no doubt about that. What is the old saying........"What is the best knife in the world? The one you have on you when you need it." The Victorinox Signature is so small and lightweight, that you are far more likely to have it on you when you need it.

The nail file and flat screwdriver: The nail file works fairly well given it's size. It can also be used as a small prybar to open paint cans or other containers in a pinch. The flat head screw driver works perfectly to change the batteries on the rear 'blinkie' light which I use on my bicycle while commuting at night. It is also small enough that it can be used on smallish sized phillips screws when you do not have a dedicated phillips screwdriver available. For larger flat heads, instead of using the tip, you can turn it sideways and insert the entire blade into the slot of the flat head screw and it will work for you that way. I have also used these to remove a bottle cap. Certainly it's no dedicated bottle opener, but should you need to pry open a bottlecap and find yourself in a situation with nothing else to use, this will get the job done.

The scissors: Fantastic for the size, and tougher then you might think. They work well on finger nails, and I even use the tip to clean the inside of the nails. I have also used them to cut thick nylon lines in packaging.......I was not sure if they would work, but they got the job done surprisingly easily.

Tweezers: You can use them to remove splinters or to grab fine objects that fall into confined spaces and are difficult to reach.

Even though I own more expensive and more elaborate knives and multi-tools, I use the Victorinox Signature more then any of them. There is a simple reason for this.........it is always on me everywhere I go. If I take my keys with me, then I take the Signature.

For the asking price, no one could ask for a better keyring knife, especially considering the lifetime warranty. The best of the best.

Victorinox Minichamp

Leatherman Squirt
