Lots of room. Great quality. I fill both bottles for hikes (10 miles on average) and have plenty of water left. There is room for keys, phone, and plenty of snacks. Ipod compartment is awkward (but i wear mine on teh back). Otherwise..great!

I use this bag daily as a diaper bag and carryall. I love the two large pockets- I can put all the baby gear in one and my things in the other. The smaller pockets are great for getting to stuff quickly (like my cell phone and keys) and the multiple water bottle slots are nice for a water bottle for myself in addition to the baby's. Despite it's great functionality as a diaper bag, it doesn't look like a diaper bag and my husband will pack it around as well. :) I also find it extremely useful in traveling. It is just the right size to put things in for a day hike, around town, or taking as a carry-on on the plane. I can attach it easily to my stroller as well as my suitcase. I'm always amazed at how much I can fit in this bag, and people comment on it often. Construction is solid, and the materials seem to be holding up well (I've had this bag for several months now). The black/tungsten has an orange liner which makes it easier to find things inside. The only thing I wish it had was a zippered pocket where the open pocket for the MP3 player is- I use that pocket to hold other things and would prefer it had some kind of closure, but even that is easily fixed with snaps or velcro. Overall, I highly recommend this product.

I purchased this Diplomat hoping it would be as good as the fantastic waist pack I hiked 100's of mile in, around the world. I had that old LL Bean pack for 20 years. Since it was discontinued, I searched high and low and thought this one would work. NOT!! It is poorly designed. Once you fill it with a full load ( and properly, with heavy stuff at the bottom and close to the back), it tends to fall backward. In fact, it almost wants to "flip" over backward! The cinch straps are placed too low to pull it in properly. Also, the water bottles sit too low, and rubbed my hips. I am not pleased with the company, High Sierra, as they will not honor a refund due to poor design, nor will ShopBags, through whom I purchased. I wore it only once on my first outing with it, and realized how terribly bad it was. I am now stuck with it, since their return policies are not the least bit friendly. The pack is still "new" without a speck of dust, but I removed the tags. Well---yeah--if I'm going to wear it in public for a real trial, I don't want to wear tags! I would not recommend this to anyone.

I needed a comfortably fitting waistpak-like carrier for nature walking and hiking locally. I wanted to be able to carry water, a snack, a very good camera, and a few other odds and ends. The High Sierra Diplomat Lumbar Pack is just what its name states: worthy of a diplomat. Roomy pockets for hiking or overseas travel. Comfortable, lightweight. This was more than I expected. It is well padded which I like because my camera dose not get bounced around. The Diplomat has a shoulder strap so you can carry it for easier access - like you are looking for a good photo opp. I recommend this bag for someone who wants a versatile carrier and a great price.

This is perfect for anyone looking to replace the diaper bag for something more sporty and not screaming "I have no life!" I was afraid it was going to be HUGE like the reviews said, but it was just smaller than our diaper bag. It's the perfect size! I got the Chipotle color, which I love, it's super comfy, and versatile (shoulder strap or waist band). Most importantly I am not going to feel embarrassed carrying it around while chasing our toddler!
