"Tons of space holds everything!" 2010-08-22
By C.J.K.
I purchased this to carry all my work supplies and lunch since I ride a motorcycle to work. This pack is great lots of space, well organized pockets and will carry a large laptop if needed. No complaints here.....when this one wears out I would definitely purchase another.

 "Looks great so far" 2010-04-22
By James R. Welch (Boise, ID USA)
I am guessing the Access 40 must be a fairly new model because it is almost impossible to find any review on it, good or bad.

This pack has yet on a trip, but here is the story and my first impressions thus far.

In about 10 days I am heading to Sikkim and Nepal. Traveling light is important to me. So I was looking for:

a. A pack that I could take on board a plane and not have to check it. I was looking for a pack that would push the size limit.

b. A pack that was reasonably light. It is funny that packs this size can very about 1lb very easily.

c. After looking at a lot of brands, I chose Jansport because of their dominance and reputation in the marketplace. There was another brand which was about $15 less. It generally had good reviews, but a couple folks were bummed about the weight and the the zippers tearing. I can email you the brand if you are interested.

d. This pack has some great pocket features, without having to many. For me, to many pockets means I am carrying stuff I really do not need. Usually where ever I go, I can purchase these types of items in the country. So why pack it over the pond?

e. Lastly I wanted a pack that I could use for other activities rather than just travel. This fits that bill.

I leave in May, or that is the plan, so maybe I will have the opportunity to give a post trip report.

 "What's with the nipple?" 2009-06-14
By J. Rowan-Stern (Amherst, MA USA)
I liked the bottle except for the nipple. It's just not my style. The whole pull it out for a sip, then kick it to the side for a gulp just wasn't my idea of a decent design.

"Better for walking or hiking, not so much for running" 2009-03-09
By Howlinw (California, USA)
I bought one of these last week and took it out on Sunday when I ran the trails at a local state park. The first thing I noticed was that, no matter how tight I fastened the waist buckle, this belt was sliding all over the place when the water bottle was full. This was so distracting that I had to take the bottle out and run with it in my hand. Actually this worked very well for me - this is a very light bottle with grooves for your fingers. The belt held my keys and I was able to slide the bottle back in when it was empty. So I'm keeping the gear, I just wish it was more useful the way it was designed.

Other reviewers on this site seem pretty content with this belt, and I think it would be just fine for walking. I think the way it fits also depends upon your build. I'd suggest buying this if you plan on walking more than running, but also suggest you try it on before buying and maybe take a jog around the store to see how it feels on you.

"Must have if you walk:" 2008-08-26
By C. Louise Jensen (Goleta, CA)
I bought this item because I needed a way to carry my water with me when I walk. I have a problem with my hands, and things fall out of them. I got tired of dropping my water bottle when I walk. This is a perfect solution for me or anyone that walks and needs to have their water with them as I do. The water bottle is at the right position to take out and return it without having to stop walking. Thank you for this product Ultimate Direction Access.

 "Good Product" 2008-08-25
By Rita Sue Jackson
I am an avid power walker and needed a way to carry water and a few personal itiems without being too large. This fit the bill. The water bottle does really well and does not leak. The whole thing is light and easy to use. If I have one disapointment about the product it is that I thought the storage place would be a little larger. It is large enough for a cell phone but not your car key and certainly not a cell phone and any other item with it. All in all it was a good price, shipping was quickly and it is a good product.

 "Great laptop backpack" 2010-01-12
By NottaGeek (CO USA)
Just received this today. My 15.6" laptop is 15" long by 10" wide. It fits in the adjustable padded laptop "pocket", and sticks up about two inches beyond the top. Not a problem, as long as the top of the bag is not crushed. I might use a piece of bubble wrap to protect the top, but that's just paranoid me. But, I doubt a full 17" (diagonal screen) laptop would fit well ... maybe 16 inches tops?

Great bag, heavy duty construction, room for the computer, power cords, back-up hard drive, folders, a couple of books, MP3 player, camera, my usual travel stuff. Nice pen/office supply pocket, MP3 player pocket with port for ear-phones, side pocket, cell phone bag on shoulder strap is a nice unexpected feature.

Too many un-needed straps .... the waist strap can be tucked into a sleeve, but the shoulder / chest strap will just hang (or get cut off , but I'll wait and see). The "rain coat" provides extra padding for the bottom when not in use, and, LOL, it is bright yellow as all raincoats should be (?) !!!! When in use, it is attached so can't get lost. The zipper of laptop pocket has a rain edge, but if the fabric is not water proof, not of much value.

Overall, great bag, far superior to the Wenger Swiss Gear bags that do not seem to accomodate larger computers, IMHO. Great price from Amazon / Luggage Guru, and aside from holiday delays, and weather delays stranding this one in Nebraska for an extra day, great service.

This bag is not light - it has some heft, which provides confidence it will protect the PC as intended.

Can't go wrong with this one.

 "Nice Pack" 2009-12-17
By SJ (Seattle, WA)
I bought this for my daughter and it was big enough for everything she needs to carry to high school - which is a lot of stuff. But, she didn't like all the straps that are there to provide hip support. But with a backpack this big you need support. Just wasn't for her. Nice sturdy pack, plenty big!

 "You can't overfill it" 2009-11-08
By Lodorand
The blue color on the bag is actually much more bright than it is in the photos, but it's not a big deal. The bag can hold a lot, I once went to the grocery store on my bike just for the sake of testing it. I was worried it wouldn't be spacious enough, because it doesn't look like it. But I bought a lot of stuff, and the bag just wouldn't fill up! When unpacked, the size of the bag is deceiving. It actually can pack a lot of stuff, even large objects. It's a good buy, I thought I would regret it but I didn't. Well at least not yet.

 "Great backpack" 2009-09-04
By Bo Qian
It is a great product ! I have used it for a long time .

Its only defect is that its zipper of water-resistant hidden hood with the poor quality is easy broken, and the elastic of hidden side water-bottle pocket is slack too.

Anyway, it is always a very good gear!
